At Lower Burrell Baptist Church, our preaching is centered on the glory of God, the sufficiency of Christ, and the power of the gospel to transform lives. Pastor James Clemens preaches expositional, Christ-centered sermons that emphasize God’s sovereignty in salvation, the necessity of faith in Christ, and the believer’s assurance in God’s promises.
We proclaim the biblical truth that salvation is entirely God’s work from start to finish, and that believers are called to live in joyful obedience as His adopted children. A central theme in our preaching is glorifying God in every aspect of life and finding our deepest joy and satisfaction in Jesus Christ. We emphasize evangelism, the security of God’s love, and the call to perseverance, even in times of cultural decline and personal suffering.
Currently, we are preaching through the book of Romans, exploring the depths of the gospel, the assurance of salvation, and the believer’s transformation through Christ. Throughout the year, we take breaks for a summer sermon series on Psalms, focusing on prayer, worship, and trusting in God, as well as for special series during Easter and Advent, celebrating the death, resurrection, and coming of Christ.
